Classical Guitars

The standard Classical Guitars manufactured by Herbst Gitarrenbau are made from native (European) timbers. The highest grade, selected Spruce and Cedar timbers are used for the tops. Walnut is the timber of choice for the neck. For the back and sides is a wide selection of hardwoods available. On request exotic timbers can also be selected for custom guitars. Environmentally friendly and tone enhancing oils are used as standard for the finish but high gloss lacquer and french polish finishes are also available on request. Our Classical Guitars excel through their great projection and a uniform sound up to the highest registers.

Flamenco Guitars

The highest grade, selected Spruce is used for the tops in the Flamenco Guitars manufactured by Herbst Gitarrenbau. Maple, Cedrela or Mahogany are the timbers of choice for the neck. The back and sides are manufactured from Cypress or Maple. On request exotic timbers can also be selected for custom guitars. Environmentally friendly and tone enhancing oils are used as standard for the finish but high gloss lacquer and french polish finishes are also available on request. Our Flamenco Guitars are built very lightly and have a very low set-up for ease of play and a loud, percussive Sound.
